Born and raised in Jennings, Louisiana, Woody Bougard attended Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School and Jennings High School before eventually earning his Bachelor of Arts at McNeese State University. After graduating from college, he attended Southern University Law Center, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2020. While in law school, he was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge June Darensburg of the 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna, Louisiana. Additionally, he served as a law clerk for the Louisiana State Senate, as well as a clerk for the Louisiana House of Representatives. Upon graduating from law school, he worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Jewel E. Welch, Jr. at the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal. Upon gaining his law license, he opened The Bougard Law Office, LLC in Jennings, Louisiana in December of 2020, and served as a Public Defender in Jefferson Davis, Calcasieu, and Orleans Parish. Currently, he is serving as a Felony Assistant District Attorney in Acadia Parish. He has dedicated his practice to representing clients in Family law matters, estate planning, and representing plaintiffs against insurance companies, whether the plaintiff had been injured in an accident or needed representation in getting money to repair their homes from hurricane damage. He takes pride in doing what is right and representing his clients to the best of his abilities.
